Joe Metzka and Friends “Live” (2002)

This is a gig from “the Loft” at Central Station, Bloomington, Illinois. Dexter O’Neal from Warrior Associates did the recording. There are some clams as well as some crowd noise (we love blues fans!) but that is the fun of a “live” recording.

In it’s current release I’ve added cuts from my now out of print first studio EP, which was recorded by Steve Soderstrom of “Soda Pop” productions.

“Joe Metzka Trio” (2003)

We recorded at Samuel Music in Peoria, Illinois. Kevin picked out the grand he liked and Tim and I set up around it. Mike Nellas arranged for us to use the venue and Ken Musselman from Milam Audio engineered the recording. We rolled “live” with no overdubs. We picked out some classic standards we each like, talked briefly about arrangements and just took a couple passes at each tune; several people wanted to hear the outtakes as well, so we wound up including them.

Joe Metzka and Friends “Live: vol.2″ (2005)

Recorded “live” at Rhythm Kitchen in Peoria, Illinois. Dexter O’Neal from Warrior Associates did the recording. We’ve been blessed with great audiences at our “live” blues shows and we will continue to document them.

Studio originals project “Some Kinda Blue” (2006) is available at shows, at http://cdbaby.com and at “Barnes and Noble” bookstores.

Recorded and engineered by Gary Manuel of “Mirror Image” studios.

2nd “trio” record and “Live: volume 3″ scheduled for 2008 release.
